  • About

As the nation's largest community-based volunteer health organization, the American Cancer Society (ACS) was founded by visionaries who dreamed of a cancer-free future. The ACS is helping people stay well with the tips and tools they need to live healthier lives; helping people get well with the support they need throughout a cancer experience; helping find cures by funding the best and brightest cancer researchers; and we're fighting back by working with policymakers to pass laws that help fight cancer.
    Our mission statement:
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering.
